Battling The Bulge

Have you woken up one day to look in the mirror only to find an overweight, older you has taken over your once slim youthful self?

Whatever happened to that slim, athletic, healthy you that could take on the world, do a thousand things and rebound the next day to face it all again?

A lot of people (myself included) have had this internal discussion many times. We try to avoid the fact that we have put on weight, aren’t physically able to do what we could do 10 years ago and generally feel sluggish.

To add to all of this self-imposed guilt, the false promises keep bombarding our senses from television, radio, magazines and the internet.

We have all seen the adverts…. “Take this tablet and you will lose weight and have abs you can bounce off”, or “Buy this exercise machine for three easy payments and you will be a new you in four weeks.”

The problem with all of these promises is that most of these either don’t work because they are rubbish or they don’t address the root cause of our weight gain which is often psychological, behavioural or medical.

Achieving a healthy weight is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health by reducing obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic pain and reduce the risk of many types of cancer.

We are offering a service that can help you choose the right way to lose weight for you.

This can be as simple as being accountable and having a ‘weigh-in’ every week, using intermittent fasting, calorie counting or meal replacement strategies.

What I have personally come to understand about weight loss is that it is not a ‘one-size fits all’ approach and what works for one person does not necessarily work for another person.

If you would like to book in for a free, no obligation consultation with me to discuss ways to help you achieve your weight loss goals, please contact Geeveston Pharmacy on 6297 1256 to book an appointment.

Appointments are available on Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm and Saturday afternoons from 1pm to 5pm.
